Margit Varga
Founding partner · Tampa
Margit tries business cases, and spends most of her time making sure they don't need to be tried.
She handles contract, partnership and commercial lease disputes for companies and their owners, on both sides of the case. Before starting the firm she tried commercial cases at a larger firm and clerked for a federal judge.
She grew up in Cleveland in a Hungarian-speaking family, and she still reads the whole contract before she reads the complaint.

How Margit works
In the first two weeks she writes a one-page case memo: what the other side will say, what the documents show, and what a trial would cost. You get a copy, and she updates it before every big decision.
She settles more cases than she tries. When one should be tried, she says so early and prepares from that day.
